Production Information

4 posts in this topic

Interestingly the production log has no entries or data for this rifle.

From rifles 0036 to 0053 there is little or no data recorded. The only data in this run is for a duplicate receiver, D0043.

It appears that rifle 0045 fits into a batch of rifles for the Govt. of Chile and the production dates of those which have complete details in the log (0035 and 0053) show delivery to Johnson Automatics Inc. on 9/10/1941.

Chester,

Do you know for certain your rifle is .30-06? A 7mm Chilean rifle is still marked .30-06 on the top of the receiver and on the front of the locking collar.

You can only see the 7mm markings if you remove the barrel. It should be stamped cal. 7mm near the throat end of the barrel.

Thanks for the quick replies,

To bad there wasn't more info about my rifle. I guess it just ads to the mystery. I did not see a 7MM marking on the barrel. The Johnson was owned by an WWII vet and his son assumed that he brought it back from the South Pacific after the war.

Thanks again,

Chester
