  1. Hi Phil,

I may be very interested in your Johnson Semi LMG. I have been 'on the search' for quite some time, I now have a lot of the needed parts, but am still lacking a few and I would like to know what you may be asking for your firearm?

       Thank you.

       Best regards,

       Larry

  2. Hi,

I saw your post regarding the value of a semi-LMG. I have been trying to gather all of the parts for the past few years. Am very close, but it has been a long haul.

I had purchased a 1941 Johnson from Brian about 2 months before he passed. I was trying to gather the funds to purchase one of his semi LMGs at the same time. He was selling them for about $8,500 and that was with an original bipod, bipod attachment for the barrel, front foregrip and bolt and rear bolt, and three magazines. He used a Joe Scott built magazine feed assembly.

Did Brian's gunsmith build your semi LMG? I have just started to send the parts to him for the build. Trying to get an LMG rear bolt, but the gunsmith can modify the 1941 Johnson rear bolt to work.

Do you happen to have any spare parts that would be for sale?

       Best regards,

       Larry

      Hi,

Wanted to add that I may be very interested in buying yours if you get to that point.

         Best regards,

I do not have any spare parts, I find that odd that you claim he was selling them for that price with an original bipod, if you are referring to the spring loaded folding model and not the rigged BAR bipod as the spring loaded originals usually go for over 2k alone, but thanks for the input.

      Hi,

It was with the original bipod and the original LMG bolt, front foregrip and Joe Scott manufactured magazine feed tray. Brian was a complete gentlemen and expert in the field. He did a lot to help collectors with information as well as a source for referrals for parts.

Brian was very generous with his time with me and many other collectors.

I am extremely familiar with the original bipod and other original parts. The fact that it would have been from Brian makes it that much more valuable.

Brian had three of these semis for sale at that time. Some slight variations. All priced in that range.

And of course, if Brian said they were original, they would be original.

         Best regards,

         Larry

  3. Hi - Thanks for sharing the video link of the JLMG in action. I think there is also a very quick shot at the very beginning (0:03-ish). Is that a JLMG? I was making a guess based on the front site.

Really appreciate all of your insights!

    Larry

  4. PM Sent. Thanks!
  5. Hi - I am interested in the Johnson LMG Bolt and the Locking Cam and roller assembly, along with the other items in that photo. What is your asking price? Thank Larry

  6. SN B2141 Sold for $2,600. Add 26% ($676) for auction premium, that takes it to a bit under $3,300 before tax and shipping. I believe someone got a great deal, even if it was to be used for parts.
  7. Thanks Mark!
  8. It is interesting to note the machining lines on the first front sight are horizontal and the machining lines are vertical on the second sight.
  9. Supportive thoughts and prayers for strength and success to you Joe.
  10. Thank you Art! As we know, the Bill of Rights were amendments specifically designed to clearly define the limitations of government intrusion into the rights of individuals. I do not believe anyone on this forum takes any of our rights for granted. There will always be a push to restrict these rights. Thank you to all who have served and to all who treasure this magnificent gift that we try to preserve and pass on to future generations.
  11. Gunbroker 'Parts Rifle' (needs a receiver): https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/961377167 Just sold for $5,275. I was bidding but the winning bidder was not going to be outbid!
  12. Hi (Updated), I am searching for the 'bolt carrier' (the 'rear half of the bolt assembly) for a semi-Johnson LMG build. I want to thank all of the members who have been providing leads and ideas for the search! Also seeking an LMG forend. Thanks! Larry Hi, I am trying to acquire all of the necessary parts to create a semi-LMG and am close to having the required parts. I have the mostly complete (99%) lower, an excellent stripped upper, an excellent JSAC Barrel, front and rear sites, and am purchasing the feed tray for the magazine. I have a gunsmith who has done these before and will work on this conversion. I have a 'donor' JSAC for common parts (semi bolt, op handle, etc), but I believe I need the 'rear half' (locking cam and roller assembly, trip plunger, spring and retainer) and some other LMG parts. Can the complete semi bolt assembly from a donor JSAR replace the complete bolt assembly of the LMG? Does anyone have the rear half - the rocker cam and locking assembly - of an LMG bolt? AND would you be willing to sell it? I do not have a forend or bipod, but will proceed without those for the time being. Appreciate any leads, ideas, feedback or deals! Best regards, Larry
  13. Hi Brian - Do your have a semi-LMG for sale? If so, may I ask the selling price? Thanks! Larry

  14. Hi Walt - If oyu have a receiver and a barrel available, I would like to purchase. Thanks! Larry
  15. Hi Ed, I hope all is going well for you. I have been a member for about ten years and check the site often, but rarely post. I am trying to contact Walt as he has some receivers, bayonets and barrels for sale. I have responded to his posts and PM'd him but no response. I understand he is a great guy, so I am guessing this could be a result of a glitch. My e-mail is: larry4sb@aol.com. Could I ask you a favor and see if you could contact Walt and ask if he could respond? Thanks so much! Happy Thanksgiving! Larry
