I received my butt stock from murrays gunstocks,It was sent without a recoil spring tube hole drilled as he is unable to do it. I sent it out to be drilled and it came back perfect.
Bill ( rifleman) sent me a recoil tube which was installed after the stock was drilled (by the forum member that drilled the stock ). I now have a fully functional Johnson rifle !!
I would like to thank Brian, Bill, and Joseph for all the help and parts but mostly that they stepped up to help me get my Johnson working. I would be unable to do this on my own. I am very happy to belong to this forum with all the members knowledge that they are so willing to share.

Murrays Gunstocks is sending me a Johnson buttstock without the mainspring hole drilled. He will sell them that way if you can drill your own hole for mainspring tube.
-
That would be awesome , please keep the forum updated !!

As of now I don't have a stock, I do have a mainspring, and all the parts except the recoil tube. I have been waiting for a buttstock from Murrays Gunstocks for over a year now.
Sent a deposit and all I get is lip service. So really what I need is a recoil tube and a buttstock.

Brian,
Sounds good, I have a rear sight assembly, not sure if it complete. I think I would like the type 2 sight base if possible. Can your gunsmith or you supply the needed parts ?

My son helped me to send photos, what do you think? Is it a possible to make a semi auto out of this ? The rear section of the two piece bolt is cut, the firing pin has a 1/4 inch cut off the rear and the ejector was cut in half. Can you get an estimate of costs please. I am very serious on getting this done.

Can a demilled 1941 Johnson LMG be rebuilt as a semi auto only.

Will do !

That stock has been on for quite some time, then relisted again. Looks rough. I think I would rather have a new one even if it is a repro.

I don't know but you could check with Randy Murray .

That is my understanding, someone in Az. You would have to talk to Randy to get his contact info. I talked to Randy last week and he said he is ready to go making the stocks and
is accepting deposits. ($100.00)

I have a Murray buttstock. I had to wait a year for it. At the time he made it he could not find anyone to drill the stock for the mainspring tube. Joe Scott drilled it for me and installed
the tube. It came out perfect ! The stock was very nice with little to no inletting needed. He may still sell them unfinished, undrilled.
