Tanker, thanks for the posting. If it is a parkerized barrel, it would probably not have come from either Dad's company in 1964 - 1965 (Johnson Guns, Hamden, CT) or mine in 1965 - 1967 (Johnson Arms, New Haven, CT). Ours were blued and with a 1 in 16" twist. I believe Iver Johnson (no relation) and Plainfield Machine (NJ) used 1 in 14" twist and IAI (in Texas) used either 1 in 12" or 1 in 14" twist.  Ed J
